Cathie is the owner of CGPT. She earned her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 1997. Cathie brings 20 plus years of extensive outpatient orthopedic experience to her patients. Her passion is helping others achieve their lifestyle goals and to live life to the fullest whether it be to travel, garden, run a marathon, play sports or walk the dog. After so many years of treating patients in a fast paced clinic, Cathie’s vision was to provide care and treatment the way she sees fit for the patient, not at the mercy of insurance companies. By spending private 60 min individualized sessions, patients get better faster and goals are met. Cathie enjoys treating her patients as a whole, integrating the body as one that works together functionally. Creating and restoring function to her patients’ needs to improve their quality of life is essential. She emphasizes a one on one manual approach including soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education all with a functional approach. She often incorporates Pilates and Yoga into her therapeutic exercises to promote strength and flexibility as well as a variety of bodyweight strengthening exercises. Originally from Colorado, Cathie has lived in San Diego for the last 28 yrs. When not treating her patients, Cathie keeps busy spending time with her husband and teen girls living in Poway. As a family they enjoy camping, traveling and spending time visiting family in Montana. Cathie is an avid animal lover and when given the chance will tell you all about her German Shepherd, Loki.
